Now, this is a staple in my prepper supplies since I strongly believe in it for treating scratches and wounds, to handle them quickly and get them cleaned, so you don’t have to worry about becoming severely infected or anything like that.
But this little bottle has many more purposes other than just a wound cleaning liquid. Now, first, a little disclaimer here is that hydrogen peroxide has been around forever and is been a very very successful antiseptic, but has gotten some bad press lately and many of the medical community, much of the medical community has jumped on the band wagon lately, saying that it is not very good for wound healing and it would destroy healing tissue and this and that, but, you know, from my perspective, I’ve used it as a child, I’ve never had bad scarring because of it, everything is healed extremely well because of it, so, I am going with my best instinct and my inner self is telling me that, you know, big drug companies can’t get money of hydrogen peroxide, because it’s, you know, it’s just have been around forever and it’s probably non profitable at this point and a loss of profit for them and everything, so they are returning to sell all the fancy stuff.
Another thing to know is if you have a cut, it’s a wonderful substance you can pour in to a cut, which will get deep into the cut and clean out, let’s say you got a stab or something or a, you know, you are, working in the garden, you digging in the earth and you stack something deep into your finger. Leaking the liquid in the fact it’s like a water, it can go deep into the wound where something like a Neosporin or a polysporin is a thick jelly and may not get into the very piece of the wound. Plus a hydrogen peroxide is drying so it well help a scab form more quickly which leads healing from the bottom up as opposed two sides closed.
The biggest thing concern about hydrogen peroxide is that the tissue that’s growing from the sides will get destroyed before it actually meets them and forms a nice healthy surface on the top. Well, your body will heal whether the sides come together or not. You have the healed sides together or bottom up and this stuff will do the trick in most cases.
Another good thing to know is that it’s very good against gangrene which a lot of other antibiotics are resistant to. If a SHTF scenario occurs or an economic collapse takes place, you don’t want to have gangrene become a problem because you will lose toes and fingers and that can progress to the body up to leg and stuff like that so, definitely good to know. Anyway, here are some unusual tips that preppers can use or hydrogen peroxide. Be sure to get your free weight loss tips eBook at BestMetabolismBoosters dot com today. It reveals the 54 best diet tricks ever.
Some of these uses are obvious and some might be new to you.
One is cleaning counter surfaces and cutting boards. You can put hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle straight or you can do fifty-fifty with water and hydrogen peroxide and mist it across counter tops and a cutting surfaces, it makes an excellent surface cleaner. It is a bleach, this is basically the same stuff that hair colors use to bleach hair. It comes in different formations. There is only one food grade formation, which is 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide and you have to be careful with that one because you cannot drink it straight, it has to be diluted quite a bit down and are certainly specific ways to do that, you be very careful, but it a so, also, the stuff you get from the drugstore, you can gurgle with it but don’t swallow it. It’s not made to swallow, because it may have impurities in it, so you definitely don’t wanna do that.
Ok, so, anyway, you can clean counter tops and a wooden cutting boards which is a great thing to do and number two, you can sprout seeds with that. Any about an ounce or so of the 3% which is the regular version or the drugstore version of the hydrogen peroxide, 2 about 1 pint of water, so pure seed sprouting seeds over a night and then dump it out and then once or twice a day add a same amount of a hydrogen peroxide to a the water that you use for rinsing the sprouting seeds, so I have a video on sprouting seeds if you want to see that.
Number 3 is an excellent rinse for cleaning veggies let’s say from your garden or from the grocery store. You bring your veggies home, a lot of this veggies are sitting in a band, open in the grocery store, you don’t know whose touch them or what’s come in the contact with them, even the package ones, they need to be cleaned. Throw them in your sink, fill your sink up, put it in a bottom quarter cup of a 3% the regular drugstore hydrogen peroxide and rince your veggies. hydrogen peroxide has the ability to kill salmonella, e coli and many other, she got lot of this under bacteria that can cause severe diarrhea and intestinal problem. So, it’s a good thing to know. Again, it has the bleaching action.
Ok, next is for cleaning sponges, let’s say in an SHTF situation, you are trying to clean your food decks, your counter tops, your cooking surfaces and you reusing sponges, because you don’t have any rid of towel of, because nobody makes it anymore, you, it’s a good idea to soak your sponges periodically in a ball of hydrogen peroxide fifty-fifty, for about 15 minutes with water 50% hydrogen peroxide 50% water, that will help cleans the sponge. Sponges tend to be a bacteria ridden, so important, clean your sponge periodically.
Another thing is the old a mouthwash / infected gums gurgle and another fifty-fifty renc 50% hydrogen peroxide 50% and 50% water, gurgle with it, do not swallow it, but, this is good if you have a gingivitis, infected gums, even if you have a toothache, sometimes the problem is the gum or the infection is lying next to, between the gum and the root of the tooth and sometimes the liquid of the hydrogen peroxide can get down there and a disinfect. Now, a word to be cautious with, is a hydrogen peroxide in a mouth every once and a while is good, too much can cause gums sensitivity and a tooth sensitivity. So, you probably have heard a people using hydrogen peroxide to bleach their teeth, they gurgle with it every day, but, after a while lot of this people will find that their teeth become sensitive and a you may not wanna do that for a long period. But, definitely good in a pinch for any gum infection, mouth infection.
Next one is hydrogen peroxide kills mold, so if you have mold in the house anywhere, it’s very effective mold treatment. I’m not sure if it kills every kind of mold, but for your average household mold, it’s definitely good in help with that, so it’s another example of what a great clean agent it is. Another thing would be a detoxifying bath for any type of a skin infections or a bug bite situation, let’s say a, you know, lot of mosquito bite or possibly a, which you scratched and subsequently infected. You can sit in a tub of water with a cup of hydrogen peroxide, very diluted into the water, which, this is talking about with 3% here, not the superstrong 35%, in to your bath water and that will help disinfect to skin overall. Again, you always want to not overuse this, your skin is very sensitive and a you have a special layer on your surface of your skin made of oils and chemicals your skin produces to protect it and a any submersion in any type of substance for a long period of a time can aware with this skin mentor with its design to protect your skin from invaders, bacteria, virus, fungus, things like that, this will help. So, anyway basically you can do it every once for a while, it’s not something you wanna soak in every night.
Ok, the next thing would be a, mite infestation, sometimes you will find in a SHTF or natural disaster situation the pinch situation where a cleanliness and hygiene may have gone out the window and you might find your body infested with mites. Skin mites, you can actually take a bath, again with a dilute hydrogen peroxide formula possible a one cup in a bath tub and this will help a kill any mites on the body. This is also good to know for grime, mite infestation, seem like that too, things tend to grow during times of disasters.
Another thing to think about is, under this infecting line, is if you ever use a rain bell or you have a Berkey filter system, you may want to consider a periodic hydrogen peroxide rinse to kill any mold, fungus, bacteria, virus that had infiltrated your filter system, this will be a good a way to doing light bleaching or anti mold cleansing of this systems. This just about covers them all and I just want you to remember, do not swallow this especially if you get them from the drugstore and light destroys this, so it loses about 10% of its efficacy per year, so that will give the idea about how long a bottle will last. But I think it’s a good idea to have lots of this on stock if you are prepper.
I strongly believe if you got a cut scrapes or a wound, take a clean cup and a clean gauze pad and you pour the hydrogen peroxide in to the cup and then you deeply clean the gauze once in to the cup full of hydrogen peroxide and you apply it to wound surface. Do not reuse this, turn it over, again, deep clean the wound and reapply. The thing is that in wound cleaning that you want to apply the hydrogen peroxide and let it sit on there for probably about, I would say anyway between two or ten minutes to do its disinfection and disjunction of the bacteria in a wound. Then you want to rinse away because it’s so harmful for the skin that a little edges of the tissue growing together wont find their way to get there and you’ll end up with a horrible scar, again, I never seen this happen and a I’ve healed hundreds of wounds this way. But, you know, there is lot of talk about it out there and quarrel and I’m leaving up to you, be wise, be smart, consider this as part of your arsenal if you feel comfortable with it. I definitely want it in mine and always keep it in a dark bottle. Remember, if you plan to use it for cleaning purposes to be sprayed on counter tops, find a dark colored bottle. So, then doesn’t get exposed to light, so that it will retain its efficacy for a much longer time and you will be one happy and healthy prepper.
